Christopher Hickey has joined join the Firm as counsel in the Los Angeles/Irvine office. He focuses his practice on complex product liability and commercial litigation matters with a particular concentration on serving aviation industry clients.

Commercial real estate lawyer LaVon M. Johns joins the firm’s business transactions practice as a partner and will lead the group in advising clients on a range of corporate and transactional matters.

Coleman joins the firm following nearly six years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, where she most recently served as Deputy Chief of the General Crimes Division.

Peluso joins the firm following eleven years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, where she served in both the Civil and Criminal Divisions, most recently as a Deputy Chief in the General Crimes Section, where she trained and supervised new federal prosecutors.

Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP (RSHC) welcomes new partner Keyonn Pope to the firm’s intellectual property and litigation practices. Pope, who was recently recognized by Bloomberg Law as one of 40 outstanding young attorneys nationwide, is a tech-savvy litigator relied upon by clients to represent their brands in bet-the-company patent and trademark litigation and other complex and high-stakes commercial disputes. He has tried patent cases in many hotbed jurisdictions including E.D. Va., E.D. Texas, Delaware, and N.D. Cal.

Bruce Wagman and Erin Gasparka represented Return to Freedom in efforts to stop inhumane and illegal surgeries being performed by the federal government on wild horses. In response to the lawsuit, the Bureau of Land Management has agreed not to begin the controversial and dangerous sterilization surgeries.

Noted lending industry litigator Nafiz Cekirge joins RSHC as a partner managing his practice from both coasts in the firm's New York and Los Angeles/Irvine offices. Cekirge has served as lead counsel in more than 200 mortgage mass actions in state and federal courts throughout the country and gained national recognition in the mortgage mass action area for his novel use of the Class Action Fairness Act (“CAFA”) to remove many of these mass actions to federal court.

Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP (RSHC) announced the hiring of two new partners, Jeffrey W. Morof and Shalem A. Massey. Jeffrey W. Morof has spent his entire career defending aerospace clients and the aviation insurance market in product liability and commercial litigation matters, including serving as national counsel for two large aerospace manufacturers. Shalem A. Massey is a litigator with experience handling high-stakes and “bet the company” matters for businesses and insurers in the aerospace and technology industries.
