Client Update on BIPA
On May 16, 2024, the Illinois General Assembly passed amendments to the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (“BIPA”) clarifying that (1) each time a company collects biometrics from the same individual constitutes a single potential violation of BIPA (rather than each collection constituting a separate violation)[1]; and (2) BIPA’s “written release” definition includes releases signed electronically.Full story: Client Update on BIPA -

MOSAIC – The Expansion of Light Sport Aircraft
On July 24, the FAA released a major comprehensive proposal expanding on Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) definitions and pilot privileges. Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification, otherwise known as MOSAIC, proposes to amend rules governing LSA manufacturing, certification standards, maintenance, and operation. Illinois Supreme Court Rules Each Scan Violates BIPA

DOJ Announces Material Revisions to Corporate Criminal Enforcement Policies
