    Ed Casmere Moderates ABA TIPS COVID-19 Webinar

    Products Liability Partner Ed Casmere moderated the “COVID-19: Facts, Myths and Hypotheses” webinar hosted on May 20 by the ABA’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section’s Toxic Torts and Environmental Law Committee. Dr. Michele Carbone, a former National Institutes of Health Fellow in viral pathogenesis, provided an update on the latest medical and scientific evidence around COVID-19, followed by a Q&A session.

    Bruce Wagman Speaker at NJC Animal Law: Livestock Webcast

    On May 20 RSHC’s Bruce Wagman will present to judges nationwide through the National Judicial College, a webcast summarizing the exemplary state laws addressing the use and treatment of animals raised for food. This is the tenth in a series of animal law judicial educational sessions supported by RSHC’s work, providing legal education covering a variety of topics in the growing field of animal law.

    Kelly Warner Speaker at MER Conference, Offers Insights on Preparing for Rule 30(b)(6) Records Custodian Depositions

    RSHC Partner Kelly Warner will be a speaker at the May 5, 2020 MER Conference Virtual session, “Preparing for Your Rule 30(b)(6) Records Custodian Deposition.” The panel will discuss how records custodians should prepare to testify to avoid potential traps and pitfalls, in particular in the context of a challenge to the sufficiency of a party’s document production.

    Cheryl D. S. Walker Elected Chair of Missouri Ethics Commission

    RSHC is proud to announce Cheryl D. S. Walker is the new Chair of the Missouri Ethics Commission (MEC) for the First Congressional District. Cheryl was appointed by Missouri Governor Mike Parson and confirmed by the Missouri Senate and will serve a two-year term.

    Patricia Brown Holmes will be part of an esteemed female managing partners panel at the March 6 CBA Women’s Summit, “Learning Your Leadership Language,” at the Chicago Athletic Club. Justice Joy V. Cunningham will moderate the conversation as co-panelists share their unique paths to achieving leadership positions in the law and provide advice on how to carve out an authentic leadership strategy.

    Illinois Supreme Court Appoints Leslie D. Davis ARDC Review Board Member

    RSHC is proud to announce that Partner Leslie D. Davis has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) Review Board, which investigates and prosecutes allegations of lawyer wrongdoing in Illinois. Leslie’s appointment began January 10, 2020 and expires December 31, 2021.

    Raymond Rushing 2019 CCBA Junior Counselor Award Recipient

    RSHC is delighted to announce that the Cook County Bar Association’s Board of Directors selected RSHC Associate Raymond Rushing to receive the 2019 CCBA Junior Counselor Award, which recognizes a member of the Cook County Bar Association who has been admitted to practice law in Illinois for five (5) years or less, for outstanding service rendered to the legal profession and to the Bar Association. Raymond will be presented with this award at the CCBA’s 105th Annual Awards and Installation Banquet to be held on Thursday, June 20, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

Merili and fellow award recipients will be honored at the 10th Anniversary of the Awards ceremony on July 24 during the NBA’s 93rd Annual Convention in New York City.
