Diverse and inclusive teams are better teams. Better teams deliver better results. At RSHC “diversity” “equity” and “inclusion” are not simply buzzwords, but the essence of our law firm – not just because it is right, not just because a law firm should reflect those we serve, but because of the fundamental truth that the more diverse, equitable, and inclusive our teams, the better the solutions and the greater the value that we produce for our clients.

Best Lawyers Cover Story, Benefits and Mechanics of Diverse Partner Integration

Patricia Brown Holmes and Leslie D. Davis, RSHC partners, co-authored the cover story forHolmes_and_Davis_Cover the Best Lawyers “Women in the Law” Spring Business Edition 2017. While lateral transitions are generally beneficial for both the attorney and the new law firm, firms are now charged with finding more effective ways to quickly integrate lateral attorneys, particularly as those attorneys become more diverse. In order to remain competitive, law firms must work to address the barriers that have inhibited the successful integration of diverse lateral attorneys.

Successfully integrating women and diverse lawyers requires strategic planning, innovation, and continuous evaluation. While there are a variety of ways to successfully integrate laterals, flexibility, teamwork, and inclusion are paramount to integration success.
