RSHC Partner LaVon M. Johns Appointed to SomerCor Board of Directors
Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP (RSHC) is pleased to
announce that LaVon M. Johns has been appointed to the SomerCor Board of
Directors, as announced by the organization on March 5, 2026.
SomerCor, a nonprofit SBA Certified Development Company
and leading SBA 504 lender, expanded its Board with the appointments of
Adrienne H. Baker, MBA; David Boulay, Ph.D.; and LaVon M. Johns to strengthen
governance and advance regional economic development.
“LaVon brings deep lending and transactional expertise
that will enhance our ability to deploy capital strategically and responsibly,”
said Manny Flores, SomerCor President and CEO.
LaVon contributes nearly three decades of experience in
complex real estate and business transactions, including her leadership as a Partner and Business Transactions Team Leader at RSHC.
The Board expansion follows a year of major milestones for
SomerCor, including surpassing $100 million in SBA 504 lending for the second
consecutive year and celebrating 25 years administering Chicago’s Small
Business Improvement Fund, which has deployed more than $153 million to
neighborhood businesses.
RSHC congratulates LaVon on this achievement and
celebrates her continued leadership in supporting community and economic
growth.
