Sondra Hemeryck, Alan King, and Rodney Perry Named to 2025 Crain’s Notable Litigators & Trial Attorneys List

Crain’s Chicago Business has selected RSHC Partners Sondra Hemeryck, Alan King, and Rodney Perry for the 2025 Crain’s Notable Litigators & Trial Attorneys honor. This well-deserved recognition highlights the client achievements, firm leadership, and community contributions of these three attorneys. Congratulations, Sondra, Alan, and Rod!

This year’s Notable Litigators and Trial Attorneys list includes 92 highly accomplished attorneys who advocate for clients in complex disputes and influence legal developments in Chicago and nationwide.

Sondra co-leads RSHC’s highly regarded Class Actions practice group and co-chairs the Recruiting and Associate Development Committee. Sondra is trusted by clients including United Airlines, a major national insurance company, a major food and beverage company, and a major automaker, and handles class action defense matters involving allegations of discrimination, defective products, “greenwashing,” Illinois BIPA violations, and more. She is a member of the American Bar Association’s Class Actions and Derivative Suits Committee, has served as a chapter lead for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and is a former board member of the Chicago Council of Lawyers.

Alan has chaired RSHC’s Labor & Employment practice since joining the firm in 2020. Alan’s clients include a number of Fortune 500 companies, and he advises and defends business clients, municipalities, and minority-owned businesses in high-stakes individual and class action litigation arising under federal, state, and local employment laws. Since 2019, Alan has been on the American Arbitration Association’s (AAA) National Panel of Employment Arbitrators and is a certified mediator and professional arbitrator. Alan serves as president of the board of Children First Fund: The Chicago Public Schools Foundation, which raises funding for CPS initiatives and schools. Alan is also one of the producers of a major Chicago music and cultural festival, the Chosen Few Picnic and Festival.

Rod co-chairs the firm’s Commercial Disputes & Litigation practice group, leading over 50 lawyers, and also leads the firm’s real estate and construction litigation team. He represents business clients in commercial litigation, class actions, and employment litigation matters both locally and nationally in state and federal courts, before administrative agencies, and in arbitration forums. Rod’s considerable litigation experience includes a special focus on real estate/construction, financial services, and consumer protection litigation. Rod currently serves as board president of the Greater Chicago Legal Clinic and as an alumni class liaison for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. He also served as an original co-chair of RSHC’s Engagement & Culture Committee, from May 2018 through January 2025. Crain’s Chicago Business previously recognized Rod in 2022 among its list of Notable Black Leaders and Executives and in 2020 among the list of Notable Minorities in Law. Rod currently serves as board president of the Greater Chicago Legal Clinic and is a past Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity for which he has held various alumni leadership roles.
