Patricia Brown Holmes CCBA Ida B. Platt Award Recipient

To be a first and a female role model. The Cook County Bar Association awarded RSHC Managing Partner Patricia Brown Holmes the Historic Ida B. Platt Award at their June 22 104th Annual Installation and Awards Banquet held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. 

In 1894, Ida B. Platt, an American lawyer based in Chicago, who attended Chicago-Kent College of Law, became the first African-American Woman licensed to practice law in Illinois and the third in the United States. In 2018, Patricia Brown Holmes, an American lawyer based in Chicago, who attended University of Illinois College of Law, became the first African-American woman to lead and have her name on the door of a major law firm that is not women- or minority-owned.
