Bio

Corporate clients facing high-stakes litigation, including potential class actions, as well as breach of contract matters and bad faith claims, rely on Joe Steadman for clear communication and an efficient, level-headed approach that prioritizes their business goals. Whether helping a key executive understand the finer points of a legal issue or arguing a motion in federal court, Joe applies the written and oral advocacy skills he honed in multiple judicial clerkships and across multiple areas of practice to foster connection and earn successful results.

Well-versed in drafting pleadings and submissions, such as dispositive motions, discovery motions, and answers to complaints, Joe also has experience in deposing witnesses, defending depositions, and preparing witnesses for trial and administrative testimony. He has given oral arguments and advocated for clients in settlement conferences before mediators, state judges, and federal judges. While his previous work featured a particular focus on representing insurers in complex commercial insurance coverage litigation, today Joe’s clients include industry-leading companies across a range of sectors.
