Bio

Susan Koci joined Riley Safer after nearly 22 years working at other major law firms in the city of Chicago. She has represented large corporations, including insurance companies, chemical companies, manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies, in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Her practice has included litigation of numerous large complex commercial cases, product liability cases, medical device patent cases and national class action cases.

Over the past several years, Susan has focused on the management of complex discovery and e‑discovery issues, supervising the review of paper and ESI (electronically stored information) files. She enjoys working in the background and really getting to “know” the documents because that’s where the cases get made.

In addition to her work in the world of corporate law, Susan gained valuable insights, knowledge and experience during a three-year clerkship with the Hon. Daniel P. Ward of the Illinois Supreme Court. She also served as a trial attorney with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where she handled criminal and civil antitrust investigations and prosecutions.
